I Wasn’t in Trouble—I Was Handling Business

During a recent professional experience, I asked to speak with someone about something important.

A few minutes later, I could hear voices around the corner—

“She’s being looked for.”

“Tic toc, tic toc…”

Then a woman stepped out and said it again, “They’re looking for you,” with that look people give when they assume you’re in trouble.

But I wasn’t.

I wasn’t hiding.

I wasn’t panicked.

I had simply asked for a meeting—because that’s what professionals do.

That moment reminded me: some people expect the worst when they see someone move with confidence. They’ve never seen boldness handled quietly. So when I don’t move with fear or gossip, it confuses them.

I’ve also come to recognize that the Holy Spirit always reveals my enemies. They can’t hide. What some call “micro-aggressive behavior” is really the Spirit showing me who that person truly is.

“The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.” – Proverbs 28:1

“For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor is anything secret that will not become known and come to light.” – Luke 8:17

I wasn’t running from anyone—I was simply focused on my purpose, even while others watched closely.
